All international airlines and Airoflot come to Sheremetyevo 2 or 3 (new terminal) international airport or to Domodedovo

Sheremetyevo international airport is located 30 km from the city. Domodedovo international airport is 35 km from the center.
The best choice to get to the Moscow downtown is Aeroexpress trains which operate between airports and metro stations.
Their departure from the airports is every 30 minutes.
Aeroexpress train from Sheremetyevo international airport arrives at Belorussky Railway Station closely connected
with Belorusskaya metro station. Travel time is 35 minutes. The price of one way ticket is 450 rubles (about 7$).
Aeroexpress train from Domodedovo international airport goes non-stop to Paveletsky railway station and thus arrives at
Paveletskaya metro station. Travel time is 50 minutes. Fare is 450 rubles (about 7$)
Taxi
There are a number of official taxi companies in Moscow which can help you to reach any destination in the city.
However taxi is quite expensive mean of transport in Moscow.
And often traveling by taxi takes too much time due to traffic jams.
Arriving at the Moscow airports, please, avoid gypsy cabs and use only legal taxies parked at the special
taxi stops outside the airports.

Moscow Metro
Moscow metro is a good alternative for using taxi: cheap, fast and famous for its art.
Metro allows you to skip Moscow traffic-jams and, thus, saves both your money and your time.
Fares can be paid by purchasing tickets or through smart cards. A one ride ticket can be purchased for 40 rubles.
A two rides ticket costs 80 rubles. Both the tickets are valid for a period of five days including the day of purchase.
A 5 rides, 11 rides, 20 rides, 40 rides and 60 rides ticket can be purchased for 150, 300, 500, 1000 and 1200 rubles
respectively.
These tickets are valid for 90 days including the day of purchase.
Smart cards can be purchased for unlimited rides on the metro within the specified validity period. A one day smart
card can be purchased for 200 rubles and provides unlimited rides for one day. The card is valid for 24 hours after it has
been validated for the first time.
Riders can also purchase tickets to be used on metro, tram, buses, monorail system and trolleybus, which have validity
limit of 90 minutes. A 1 activation ticket costs 50 rubles and can be used on the day of purchase. A 2 activations ticket
costs 100 rubles and can be used for 5 days after the first activation. A 5 activations and 11 activations tickets costs 220 and
450 rubles respectively and are valid for 90 days including the day of purchase.
Ticket needs to be purchased for bulky luggage and costs 50 rubles for one piece of luggage.

The official monetary unit in Russia is rouble (1$ is currently about 65 roubles).

It is recommended to take US Dollars or Euros and to use authorized Exchange offices in banks and hotels rather than small
exchange offices around the city (there are risks they will try to cheat you)
